Simply stated, there is no other place on Earth quite like the Grand Canyon. That being said, landing helicopter rides are a big attraction at Grand Canyon West; it’s the only place in the entire canyon where these tours are possible. The most popular landing flight touches down at the bottom of the canyon for a unique champagne picnic. That’s plenty good right there for lots of folks. But for those who want a broader canyon experience, there’s a package that adds a float trip down the Colorado and a landing at the top with VIP access to the Grand Canyon Skywalk – all in addition to landing on the bottom! Finally, you’ll reach the Colorado river, and you’re almost to the ranch. The mules make a short detour to the Kaibab trail to cross the black suspension bridge. This is because the silver suspension bridge on the Bright Angel trail has a wire mesh floor. There’s no way to get the mules over THAT with the raging Colorado hundreds of feet below! So the mules happily cross the black bridge on rubber mats, oblivious to the void under their feet. Seeing the canyon by helicopter is a fabulous way to enjoy this incredible natural wonder. Flights leave daily and go to both rims. Choose aerial or landing tours based on time and budget. Having established that, remember to book your flight online and in advance in order to get the best price. Now you are good to go. Prepare to get airborne!
