Hot Springs, Arkansas, is a good choice for vacationers who are looking for a beautiful and serene place to take their families. The city of Hot Springs, comfortably nestled between East and West Mountain, features many family friendly attractions. National Park Duck Tours, The Winery, and The Josephine Tussaud Wax Museum, all owned and operated by the Roberts family, are three of the most popular.

National Park Duck Tours — Load the family into a WWII amphibious vehicle that has been renovated into a land and water tour bus. The Captain will begin the tour on Central Avenue, pointing out local landmarks along the way, while explaining a little bit about Hot Springs history. The “Duck” then drives off into the water like a boat, takes a leisurely tour through the water, and around St. Johns Island, before heading back towards town. The captains work for tips, so be sure and have a few bills to slip into his or her hand as you disembark the vehicle.

The Winery — Visitors to the Winery can take a tour, taste delicious deli meats and cheeses, and sample a fine selection of Arkansas made wine. After the tour visitors are heartily encouraged to buy wine, beer, and other spirits, by the glass, bottle, or case. The Winery also offers a diverse selection of gifts in their well stocked gift store. Visitors can purchases wines for relatives or friends, and have them shipped directly to them.

The Josephine Tussaud Wax Museum — A unique attraction that features celebrities, presidents, historic battles, and even Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Last supper”. The wax figures, depicted in the many different settings, are so real you may expect them to talk. The museum is fully air conditioned, which is a nice change from the outside temperature, if you are vacationing during the hot and humid summer months. One of the newest additions to the museum is an exhibit that features wax figures depicting the brave firefighters in New York City on 9/11.
